His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche

His Holiness passed into parinirvana February 9, 2008 at 7:00 pm, the 3rd day of the 1st month of the Tibetan lunar calendar. As the sad news was first released, all of the Tibetan settlements in Dehra Dun, North India, stopped their Losar celebrations and began doing Mani Mantras (Chenrezig). Most of the shops in Dharamsala, H.P. closed immediately after hearing the news. After that, the traditional sacred ceremonies exclusive to His Holiness' Parinirvana, as well as the annually scheduled ceremonies continued and were attended by hundreds of Sangha in different shrine rooms throughout Mindrolling Monastery. Many have arrived to offer their respects.

Sakya Trizin's Khandro Dagmo Kushola and son, Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, and Ngor Luting Shab Drung Rinpoche, along with many other Teachers from different lineages, were in attendance to escort the Kudung to the main Mindrolling monastery shrine room.
